Hello and thank you so much for this deep review 1. dh_installsystemd --no-start I documented the reasonning in d/rules in more comments. According to upstream [0], it's not because of the reboot. But the reboot is concerning, so I raised an upstream issue [1]. 2. Copying the maintainer scripts during build I'm not doing that anymore, I copied them under debian/. I also took the opportunity to slightly clean up these maintainer scripts and remove the debconf sourcing / db_stop that was useless. 3. Copyright issues I addressed all of them.
4. The conffiles issue This does not sound like a non-blocker indeed, but it would also be a significant patch. I opened an upstream issue [2] before writing the patch. I'll wait for a few day to see what they say and will reach out again to discuss the next step.
