I will take a look at libnet-ssleay-perl and create a PR to add the
necessary upstream support since most of the necessary code is already
there and we just need to add a handful of bindings (and I've done
similar changes for Twisted and rust-openssl in the last few months).

Integrating this with libmail-dkim-perl will then require a few minor
changes, but those could be difficult to convince debian to take so I
will see if we can propose to upstream to make the ed25519 backend
pluggable (no guarantees here though, since this upstream hasn't been
active the last few years).
