Public bug reported:

Hardware
- Dell XPS 14 (2026), model DA14260
- CPU: Intel Core Ultra (Panther Lake), IPU7
- Camera sensor: OmniVision OV08X40 (ACPI HID OVTI08F4)
- GPIO/I2C for the camera provided via USBIO bridge (INTC10E2)
- Display assembly incl. camera module was replaced by Dell service; same
sensor detected afterwards

Software
- Ubuntu 26.04 LTS (Ubuntu Cinnamon flavor), generic kernel <uname -r>
- No out-of-tree camera drivers installed (intel-ipu7-dkms was tried and
removed again)

What works
- intel_ipu7 / intel_ipu7_isys load, firmware intel/ipu/ipu7ptl_fw.bin is
loaded and authenticated by CSE
- ipu-bridge finds the sensor: "Found supported sensor OVTI08F4:00", "Connected
1 cameras"
- usbio, gpio_usbio and i2c_usbio load
- ov08x40 module is loaded
- /dev/media0 exists with IPU7 ISYS capture and CSI2 entities

What does not work
- No sensor entity in the media graph (media-ctl -p shows only IPU7 ISYS/CSI2
entities)
- No I2C client i2c-OVTI08F4:00 under /sys/bus/i2c/devices, so ov08x40 never
binds
- The camera is therefore unusable

i2c_usbio.usbio-i2c usbio.usbio-i2c.1: Invalid speed 400000 adjusting to bus
max 100000

Suspected causes
1. GPIO type 0x02 (strobe / IR flood LED) is not supported by int3472-discrete
in this kernel.
Upstream patch series "platform/x86: int3472: Add support for GPIO type 0x02
(IR flood LED)"
   (v8, platform-driver-x86, April 2026) adds this.
Same symptom as LP: #2138991 (Dell 16 Premium DA16250).
2. gpio_usbio reports GPIO 11 as not present in the firmware pin bitmap,
although the ACPI
tables reference it for the camera – possibly a USBIO firmware / BIOS issue
on Dell's side.

Expected result
- OV08X40 sensor is powered up, bound to ov08x40 and linked into the IPU7 media
graph.
