Additional information: Chrome does not have this problem. I tested the same scenario with Google Chrome (installed as .deb) on the same system. Chrome downloads the .eml file locally and does not attempt to open it directly with an external application. As a result, the "Open with..." dialog does not appear, and the file can be opened normally from Thunar with Thunderbird.
This suggests that the issue is specific to Firefox Snap and how it interacts with the XDG portal (OpenURI). Chrome, using a different approach (download + open from file manager), bypasses the problem entirely. This narrows the scope of the bug to Firefox Snap's integration with xdg-desktop-portal on Xubuntu 26.04 with XFCE. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2169674 Title: xdg-desktop-portal: FileChooser backend missing on Xubuntu 26.04 with XFCE To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xdg-desktop-portal/+bug/2169674/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
