Checked against Debian: the same failure reproduces with Debian sid's toolchain. I cross-compiled zile 2.6.2-2's lib/ for ppc64el with gcc- powerpc64le-linux-gnu (GCC 16.2.0-3, --with-long-double-format=ieee) and libc6-dev-ppc64el-cross 2.43-3cross8:
/usr/powerpc64le-linux-gnu/include/bits/stdio-ldbl.h:42:1: error: return type defaults to 'int' [-Wimplicit-int] (from regex.c:68 via regex_internal.h -> stdio.h) So this is not Ubuntu- or glibc-2.44-specific. The trigger is the IEEE128 long double default on ppc64el, which comes from the gcc packaging in both Debian and Ubuntu (ppc64el_ibm128_distreleases ends at trixie/plucky), combined with zile's outdated bundled gnulib cdefs.h. Debian's current ppc64el binary is an older binNMU, so Debian will hit it on the next rebuild. I'm reporting it to Debian (bug number to follow) so the maintainer can refresh the bundled gnulib. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2170635 Title: Remove zile 2.6.2-2build3 from stonking-proposed (ppc64el FTBFS: stale gnulib cdefs.h with IEEE128 long double) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zile/+bug/2170635/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
