Launchpad – Additional observation: Firefox Flatpak instability and complete Wayland session termination I would like to add another observation regarding the overall system instability.
Firefox, installed as a Flatpak, occasionally experiences problems during application startup or while loading browser tabs. In some cases, these problems are accompanied by a complete loss of the current graphical session, returning me to the GDM login screen. This is particularly concerning because the instability is not limited to gedit or other GTK applications. I have also observed GNOME Shell terminating with SIGSEGV, followed by Xwayland-related errors. The Firefox-related incidents and the previously documented kernel crashes have not yet been proven to share the same root cause. However, the combination of: - Repeated segmentation faults in GTK applications, - Firefox Flatpak startup and tab-loading problems, - Unexpected GNOME Shell/Wayland session termination, - And fatal kernel exceptions in unrelated kernel subsystems, suggests that the investigation should not be restricted to an individual application or the GTK library alone. In particular, I believe it would be useful to investigate whether these failures share an underlying issue involving graphics drivers, memory management, or another common system component. I am reporting these observations together to provide a more complete picture of the instability. I cannot currently establish whether they are causally related.
