linux-firmware-amd-graphics 0ubuntu3.4: DMCUB fails to load on RDNA4 (DCN 4.0.1), black screen after boot
Hardware: AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT (Navi 44) [1002:7590] (rev c0), Intel UHD 770 iGPU also present [8086:a780]; MSI Z790, i7-14700K After upgrading linux-firmware-amd-graphics from 20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu3.3 to -0ubuntu3.4, the system boots to a black screen as soon as amdgpu takes over (LUKS prompt via simpledrm still works). Only booting with nomodeset works. Hardware: [GPU aus bug-lspci.txt], MSI Z790, i7-14700K OS: Linux Mint 22.3 (Ubuntu 24.04 noble base) Kernel: 7.0.0-42-generic (HWE); 7.0.0-38 is also affected (initramfs rebuilt with the new firmware) Relevant log lines with 0ubuntu3.4: psp gfx command LOAD_IP_FW(0x6) failed and response status is (0x11) [drm] Wait for DMUB auto-load failed: 3 [drm] DMUB hardware initialized: version=0x07002F00 [drm] *ERROR* dc_dmub_srv_log_diagnostic_data: DMCUB error [drm:dcn20_wait_for_blank_complete] *ERROR* DC: failed to blank crtc! Workaround: downgrading to 0ubuntu3.3 (from Launchpad) and running update-initramfs -u -k all fixes the issue completely.
