yes it does duplicate, however this bug seems to me as the duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/usplash/+bug/147623 and there are some workarounds similair to my solutions to bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/150930
