I don`t have the same hardware since my bug report, so I cant test it under the same circumstances. Now I have a 64-bit Gutsy final and a nvidia geforce 8500 GT card, the usplash is completely absent, but the workaround I posted in bug 150930 fixes the problem.
Gutsy final and Hardy alpha 4 (I tried Ubuntu and Kubuntu) LiveCDs have the same issue, and I can`t get the usplash with any of the available resolution options.
