Taking a deeper look:

ACPI seems to be running fine, but what I can observe is:

- There is no indication of battery and/or power cable connected at the panel 
(using Xubuntu)
- When left disconnected from the power, battery will drain out and power off 
completely (not suspending or hibernating)
