OK, so here's what I'm thinking of doing (I want to get a nod from someone before I actually write the code):
* Remove the "Reduce backlight brightness" checkbox in the battery tab of g-p-prefs. * Replace it with a slider just like the one in the AC tab. * Hook the new slider up to the /apps/gnome-power-manager/backlight/brightness_battery GConf key. * Remove the battery_reduce GConf key, or make sure nothing uses it. * Change the gpm_backlight_brightness_evaluate_and_set function accordingly. * Change the button_pressed_cb function to change the appropriate GConf key when a button is pressed. This way, the actual brightness would always be in sync with the value stored in the GConf key, the buttons would always be able to adjust the brightness (permanently) over the full range, and nothing surprising would happen. Any problems with this? -- Backlight no longer under my control on battery https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131885 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
