Ubuntu 8.04 Beta Release with all updates applied as of March 25th. 256+512 MB RAM 160 GB HD 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (64 MB of RAM is allocated for this card)
Note: This is not my first post for this bug entry. I had similar problems with 7.10 on the same machine. Using i810 driver had solved the aforementioned problems. Currently, I am running Hardy Beta on my Toshiba laptop. A can restart and shutdown without any crash. But logging out immediately results in a crash. The computer seems on but the screen becomes blank (the monitor is turned off). Only option is a hard reset with the power button. Although no driver seems to be selected in the Screen and Graphics Preferences tool (screenshot 1), i810 driver is offered in the Choose Graphics Card Driver dialog. When I tested with that one and intel drivers (since this driver was the default driver by Gutsy and i810 had solved the problems) the system immediately crashed (power on but monitor off, only hard reset works). Maybe the testing function of that tool is broken. i915 driver seems to be currently running according to lsmod output (screenshot 3). ** Attachment added: "screenshots.tar.gz" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12854965/screenshots.tar.gz -- [Gutsy] Toshiba U200 random crashes on shutdown https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150943 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
