Finally, I found out what the problem was. Apparently the installer doesn't like the fact that "/var/lib/dpkg/info/ubufox.md5sums" is a folder on my Ubuntu.
I did the following: sudo mv /var/lib/dpkg/info/ubufox.md5sums/ /var/lib/dpkg/info/ubufox.md5sums.bakk And now the package is installed. Indeed, after the install, /var/lib/dpkg/info/ubufox.md5sums is a file. I never messed up with those files so it is probably a previous package that broke it (I have just updated from Gutsy).
