I just realized the screen shot was not clear. Here it is attached again. Also you will notice that the GUI of nautilus-share only allows guest access and read-write for everyone else. This implies that the user creating the share should have read-write by default, which in my case is not true, or that the GUI is lacking. If the later is true, the GUI should also expose a check box to allow read-write for the user creating the share.
