Nicholas,

I respectfully disagree. This is a documented feature of the closed
source nvidia driver. You can confirm (or deny) this by reading the
README.txt file supplied by Nvidia with the driver.

The guidance on reporting problems
(http://www.ubuntu.com/community/ReportProblem) states that bugs should
be reported when they are not a feature of the program.

To be more clear, I should have recommended that this [bug report be
closed because this is not a bug]. I still recommend that.

If Nvidia will not either make their drivers open source so others may
hack on them, or fix them as we request, then we as consumers can make
the choice not to purchase any of their products in the future.

Best regards,

Harvey
