Harvey Muller (and everyone else) I think you are right, changing something in the driver without asking the user is not the best way to improve Ubuntu. However, leaving it as it is is not a solution either. As I have stated before, such refresh rates are more than confusing for new users. I know Ubuntu developers can thing of something - at least a dialog box asking if the user wants this DynamicTwinView. In any case, whether or not this is Ubuntu's fault, the outcome of it is in a very remarkable spot. This is not something that should be left behind.
