There is a bug in Hardy that causes a machine to start with the screen kind of dim. You then have to adjust it up. But it sounded like you were saying that throughout the entire install, your screen was dim. Mine wasn't. Maybe when you were in the live cd before installing it was dim and you could've turned it up -- but you didn't?? Could this have caused it to be dim throughout the install?
