I have the same error -- it's the call to psenviron(pid) for a process
that no longer exists, which causes an exception to be thrown.

I changed the script to catch the exception and simply set e to an empty
dictionary to see if that helped. As usual, my blind, ignorant hacking
did not help anything ;) Although pm-suspend.log now shows a clean
suspend/resume cycle, unfortunately it doesn't solve the problem: both
compiz and compiz.real are gone upon resume. Only compiz-decorator is
still running. No borders, no keyboard, no virtual desktops; but I can
use the mouse to set System->Preferences->Appearance->Visual Effects
back to "Extra" (since it reverts to "None" when this happens).
