The borders come back for me, but I should have noted that I only tested my scripts with fusion-icon and thought it would probably work for the other methods of launching compiz. I guess the script is making some incorrect assumptions about the other launching processes.
jsteinhart: if you are claiming that suspend/resume works with fusion- icon and _without_ my scripts, I'd love to know how that's possible.
