Yes, creating a new profile does fix it. Firefox does not even prompt
for which profile to use. Looks like the old one was stored in
/etc/firefox and the new one is in /etc/firefox-3.0.
This is still a bug, however, since I suspect many users will not be
happy having lost their bookmarks, settings, history, etc.

bookmarks are gone, I can not add bookmarks or import bookmarks
backup, the toolbar does not work, the buttons back, then update are broken,
the bar gives direction errors
