I don't know if anything in my original post gave the idea of splitting up, but my only intention with this was to bring more people to our ongoing efforts in the Indian LoCo [0]. Actually I myself was a bit annoyed by the fact that there were quite a few other India related groups in launchpad which rarely communicate/co-ordinate with us. When the hands are few, it is always a good idea to work together. My intention was not to create 'yet another group' but to give incentive to the people to come to this existing group. As I mentioned before, there are 1179 direct members in our launchpad team and hundreds subscribed to the mailing list, but only a handful of them are actively involved in team activities. But as others have rightly pointed out, the resources required for this kind of effort would outweigh its benefits. As an afterthought, I think it would also cause a sort-of-alienation among those who are not approved as members.
