That's fine but you still need to follow the steps at [1], and you still need: 1) A bug with an SRU justification that covers all parts of the proposed diff between what is in Trusty and Utopic now and the update you're proposing. If you want 0.6.1 rather than specific cherry-picks from it, then that means you need an SRU justification for all changes in the diff between 0.6 and 0.6.1 rather than the specific cherry-picks from it. 2) Uploads for Trusty and Utopic (or proposed source packages or debdiffs if you need sponsorship). These need to be based on the existing packages in those releases. We can't just upload the version in Vivid or Wily. Even if the contents are the same, the debian/changelog file needs to be based on the one from the stable release being updated, explain the reason for the update and refer to the bug in my paragraph 1) above. The package version number needs to be one suitable for the release it's going in to - see [2] for examples.
