Have had trouble with Pulseaudio getting in the way of jacks use of a db in 12,10 64bit, Am also useing 12.04.2 64bit, the new one as of yesterday.. it does not have this problem.. but it does have some others.. all this on a dimension 9100 dual processor with 4g memory and various drives. Using the onboard sound...
