OK - there was actually an Upgrade option on the 11.10 disk - I chose
that and everything seems to be all hunky dory except that some icons
are missing from the launcher. The spaces are there, the text appears
and the function happens when the "space" is clicked - how do I repair
the launcher so all the icons appear correctly?
Cancel that - I changed the theme and all the missing icons seem to have
reappeared!
