@madbiologist: Tried that, but no success. Finally, was able to find this link and it worked like a charm. Seems we need to install a ppa to replace the current driver. Although, I must say that Unity is very very slow to respond in the current driver, nigh unusable. Have switched to Gnome-Shell right now, which looks good :)
