Question #76269 on Ubuntu changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/76269
Tom proposed the following answer: 8.04 has Long Term Support and thus gets all the bug-fixes before other versions of Ubuntu so many people are sticking with 8.04 until the next LTS release in 2010, April. 9.04 does not have long term support and to 'upgrade' to it you'll need to go up to the top taskbar and click on System - Administration - Synaptic Package Manager Settings - Repositories - Updates then at the bottom change "Release upgrade" from "Long Term Support Releases only" to "Normal releases" But as i have already said many people would consider 9.04 to be less worthwhile having than 8.04 because of the bug-fixes and all that. I hope this helps! Good luck and regards from Tom :) -- You received this question notification because you are a member of UF Unanswered Posts Team, which is an answer contact for Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
