vijay is still having a problem:
yes,this time i give as
grub>find /boot/grub/stage1
and press enter key ,it shows
(hd0,2)
(hd0,6)
grub>
then quit to leave that and it shows as
el...@elcot-laptop:~$ sudo grub

i close the terminal.
then what i can do?
one thing i want to say is that
now i add Gparted program using the add or remove program.
and another thing i want to say is that -update icon in the system tray shows
that there are 232 updates available { 249.2 MB}
can i install all these updates now?
