Question #76232 on Ubuntu changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/76232
Tom posted a new comment: Linux uses ram more intelligently and so you need a lot less with linux, 4Gb is double what i have and mine shifts along quite fast in linux :). Have you been able to plug the old hard-drive into your machine inside it or have you got a lead so that you can plug it into a usb port? Either way you should be able to read the data if the hard-drive has survived at all although electric surges might not leave much behind but at least we can try with linux :) -- You received this question notification because you are a member of UF Unanswered Posts Team, which is an answer contact for Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuforums-unanswered More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
