How is editing the menu.lst going?
I think another way to try clearing that downloaded file is to go into
Synpatic again but this time click on
Settings - Preferences - Files - Delete cached package files
It's also occured to me that it might just be the settings for your web-
browser so try clicking on your web-browser's "Edit" menu and then on
"Preferences". The "Main" tab about halfway down has something about
downloads you may want to tweak in which case you'll probably also want
to tweak a few settings on the "Privacy" tab.
