Question #77726 on Ubuntu changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/77726

Vihar proposed the following answer:
You can try

sudo apt-get autoclean

or (autoremove) or both

or

dpkg --remove

in order to remove unused files/packages an free space. Read carefully
the output during operations to see what is going to be removed. If not
sure answer with "n" (no).

But first you can look at the manual for this programs to know how they act.
man apt-get
man dpkg
.
Good luck!
