Ok, I fixed the xserver problem (that I caused). Thanks for the info.

For the record:

-Blacklist fglrx
-dpkg -force all purge flgrx
-dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
-Reinstall anything relating libgl1-mesa

Now I'm back at square one - working video/compiz using the 'radeon' driver,
and no suspend. At least now I'm fairly sure the suspend problem is caused
by the 'radeon' driver (thanks Bartosz!). However, there doesn't seem to be
a solution, since I can't use the propriety drivers...

Is this a bug in the 'radeon' driver that should be reported? Or maybe it
already has been...

Thanks for your help, everyone!
