your personal data is stored in a hidden directory below your user
directory it is

/home/yourusername/.evolution

note there is a dot ( . ) in front of the word evolution

I think you could just back up all that is in there and then reinstall
evolution via the
package manager ( synaptic )

I don't think it would overwrite your personal settings but if it did
you could just restore them from
your backup.
