This computer I am on dual boots windows and ubuntu, I am able to surf the internet fine and view my network through windows no problem and also Ubuntu 8.04 when installed. 8.10 however does not allow me to surf or see the network at all. i find it strange that the 8.04 works fine right off the back but 8.10 doesn't seem to connect to the internet at all. I have this problem with 2 computers with 8.10 but works fine with 8.04 and windows on both. this is why I was asking about a firewall or some setting that is in 8.10 that I don't know about. I can always revert back to Ubuntu 8.04.
