You sound like a good candidate for dual booting. You can convert Wubi installed Ubuntu to a full version. when you install Ubuntu, it will become the default OS in grub, but that is easily changed with a text editor, launched as root.
>From a terminal inside Ubunt type: sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst Just change the default number from zero to whatever Windows is (grub uses ordinals so it will be one less) or I find it easier to just cut and paste the Windows lines and move them in first place.
