Oops, I should add to the above post that I am using the 64-bit edition. I tried 64 Studio a while back and had no similar problems.

Status in Ubuntu Studio: New Bug description: I have installed both the i386 and the amd64 versions of Ubuntu Studio 9.04. After installing and loggin in, the cursor moves extremely slow, and then, locks up (freezes). Sometimes once I start Update Manager. Other times, before I can even click on Update Manager. I have WinXP and Ubuntu 9.04 (both i386 and amd64 - separate partitions) running on this pc already (and was using Ultimate 8.10 before, i386 and amd64 versions on separate partitions).
