Just to let you know, compiling gollage under Ubuntu 9.10 is easy. I had already some C/C++ compiler plus automake, pkgconfig and stuff like that. I needed to install: libmagickcore-dev libmagickwand-dev libglade2-dev
And it was enough to compile. Hope this will be the same for others.
