Hi, You'd likely get a more meaningful response from the net-snmp list. Check net-snmp.org.
Net-snmp is a fairly hefty app. You may want to ask net-snmp list which version is most appropriate for an embedded app and what can be done to minimize it's overhead processing. Check the configure options, maybe things can be disabled that will decrease processing overhead, maybe limiting some of the mibs you include will decrease processing of messages. Lot's of string/tbl lookups in net-snmp I think. You should be able to compile newer versions of net-snmp for uclinux, it is an active project and there are many useful updates in newer versions. Current version is 5.4. There may not be any particularly good reason to limit your use to the version in the dist.
