Thanks for the information. So has Xenomai effectively taken over the realtime space originally occupied by RTAI? Both projects seem active (I might ask this on the Xenomai and/or RTAI boards).
It sounds like Blackfin has good support in Xenomai from the two emails received so far, I can follow that up with the Xenomai project a bit later. Thanks for the pointer. Is there any stable realtime support for Microblaze at all using the uClinux-microblaze port (It does not seem like there is for Xenomai, but maybe for RTAI)? I have considered adding a BF DSP to my project which is why I was asking about it, but I currently have an FPGA on the board and would like to try using a Microblaze soft-core first to see if it will achieve what I need before looking at adding the extra chip to the board (BF DSP). Thanks for the responses so far. They have been very helpful.
