X-Mail-List: ufdbGuard
I don't really know much about that. One of the features that ufdbGuard offers
is the ability to detect and block proxies and VPNs. It seems to be stressed
that that is a major reason to use ufdbGuard. The UrlfilterDB blacklists have
multiple proxy domains they provide to block. Seeing as this is a major reason
to use ufdbGuard, I also wanted to be able to use the feature if other lists
are being used besides UrlfilterDB. And indeed, if I do create a
proxies/domains file from Shalla's anonvpn/domains file and run ufdbConvertDB,
ufdbguard will eventually complain that the proxies/domains.ufdb file is out of
date and I get a fatal error.
Should I just not bother with creating a proxies/domains.ufdb file for use with
other lists besides UrlfilterDB blacklists?

proxies lists suxx in any list. This is updates too frequently.
Better solution is use router functionality, because of often uses SOCKS
proxies, so, for example, for Cisco ISR-G2 you can use NBAR functionality to
block whole SOCKS protocol and get rid of a headache about support huge Block
lists of anonymous proxy. Anyway, from the greater part thereof.
However, you should keep in mind that to date does not exist in the world in
general any product or block lists that would solve the problem of complete
blocking of anonymizing proxy or VPN. As you can imagine, these services do not
reveal their addresses and traffic point of landing.
Whatever claimed marketers. In any case, even if someone is sitting a hundred
people and manually monitors and updates these lists (what I personally just do
not believe - their money is not enough), there is a time lag between the
emergence of new servers and their inclusion in the lists block. We should not
forget the fact that not all of these services work chereh HTTP / HTTPS. Thus,
in such cases, Squid simply useless.
