| Ssebuwufu Warns Against Violence |
STERN: Ssebuwufu
By F. Ahimbisibwe THEY go to Wandegeya and drink themselves silly. They are carried back to the university on wheelbarrows because they cant even stand. When they fail exams, they begin making noise. You have no business failing, an angry Makerere University vice-chancellor, Prof. John Ssebuwufu, said recently while addressing over 10,000 first year students at Freedom Square. He had no kind words for students who fail to perform and later begin stampeding when the university implements its policies. He warned students against any form of violence and said the university does not tolerate failures and undisciplined characters. This was at the official admissions ceremony. Ssebuwufu said, the lazy students will find their way out. If the students were serious, the stampede in the Faculty of Law would not have taken place. You have no business failing because when we are admitting, we only admit the best. We shall continue to be merciless on those who abuse the tax-payers money, he said. Ends
