Friends
Buganda is a very culturally structured region, and I have gone home and
seen so many cultures that still prevail. Sometimes I feel offended by some,
but hey I am at home so I let it go for a while, for example I have had a
problem with parents instructing girls to kneel and greet people, that has
failed to settle down with me, and I have tried to actually instruct them to
stand up and talk to me face to face, for they can. And I have a problem of
making it a responsibility of every child to great every punk that shows up,
Geez why is it a business to say wasuze otya ssebo to every Monkey, and they
are so many as you all know how large are Uganda families, you end up to
great 30 kids and it gets to my balls. I need to arrive do what I need to do
and go, if I have come to visit fine but you do not have to great me for I
really do not care.
But I am truly offended that in 2013 we still shake hands in Buganda. Who
does that in this educated society? No honestly I have come to see you when
you have no idea where my hands are coming from and neither do I know where
yours come from, I simply do not want to hold my hand as simple as that. It
is wired it is embarrassing and it is offensive. And for a very simple fact,
I trust only my health and none other. And for all we know I might be
carrying a germ I do not want to pass to you. It gets really disturbing to
walk in Buganda and every Monkey you see starts with extending a hand to
you. Gees how many viruses do I end up by the end of the day? And just
asking. Who in the world shakes a hand of another person in 2013 again I
ask? How much do you know me? May be I am a germ phobic? May be I am
allergic to whatever you use? Why am I going through all these emotional
issues of asking myself such questions for you have expanded you palm at me
!!!!! And what am I supposed to say to you? Hum yes I have seen your hand
but when did you wash it last? Geez !!!!!!!! And you know we have started
to see them here too, he shows up in The Greater Authority, wo Mwami
Mulindwa muliu mutya? No please stay with your hand. What other country does
this except in Buganda? And trust me I have travelled as people travel and I
have seen all weirdoes out there, but the hand thing is shallow it is silly
and it is plain stupid. We need to raise up and outgrow it for in 2013 we
are supposed to know better.
