many businesses have gigabit networks but may only have, say,and 8M symmetric circuit, so I was wondering what congestion mechanisms ISPs are using? WRED or RED. or ECN or ??? do they (you?) allow customers to choose?
I normally recommend the customer handle their own traffic management. By the time the traffic gets through their firewall it's missing some of the information they would like our router to make a decision on.
