I had a very similar issue with a 5540 not too long ago. Removing and
re-seating the RAM modules and flash seems to have made things all better.

About to tackle a 5505 upgrade with a bag of 2nd hand server RAM so I'll
try to post my results here. It's a management FW so we can afford to
traverse the 'non-Cisco' path, should it all work out.
