But in my experience (and we do a lot of importing), getting stuff revalued once HMRC have got their grubby paws into it is next to impossible. Send it back and get it reshipped with "Obsolete. No commercial value" attached. Use a different shipping company otherwise it will come past the same guy who will recognise it coming back. This may seem ridiculous but will be the simplest approach.
