Or to block them entirely, as has been a best practice for many years.

(Brief explanation: Mail from non-list members almost always falls into
three categories:

        1. Spam -- which I trust we all agree should be refused. ;-)
        2. Messages from list members, but using an address which
           isn't subscribed to the list.  Easily fixed by the list members.
        3. Messages from non-list members.  Sending mail to a list that
           one isn't subscribed to is rude -- since, among other things,
           it means that one won't see on-list replies.)

Of course, if the moderator/list-owner is willing to do the extra work
required to weed through the traffic and selectively forward things, that's
fine too.  I'm just reluctant to ask anyone to tackle that Sisyphean task.
