i've got some serious troubles with unattended 4.4, all concerning the first steps. ( connecting to server, copying windows setup )
first of all, for the dos boot iso, the selection of an umb provider in bootdisk/config.sys
has to be changed from emm386.exe to umbpci.sys, else the network drivers wont
load properly.
then, copying the os setup runs well, but without having disabled smartdrv in bootdisk/autoexec.bat
windows setup will complain about missing files or files it can't access ( e.g. cdaudio.sys ) afterwards.
using the linux boot cd as alternative then works better for the network drivers but when it comes
to O/S selection it simply prompts me i could not find any O/Ses ..
( and i have 3 versions of windows2000 and one of Windows XP in the install/os/ directory, every one
of them as accessible I386 directory below a somewhat representative named ( e.g. wxpsp1 ) folder.
I can access z/os/wxpsp1/I386/ and the files needed ( product.inf or something ))
it drives me nuts.
any proposals, please ?
