If you do not bother you can disable the annoying reboot martahon while
Windows Updates are installed.
I use the following on "winxpsp2-updates.bat" everytime after I have
updated the scripts:
perl -pi -e 's/.reboot-on\ 194\ /.ignore-err\ 194\ /' winxpsp2-updates.bat
The perl statement and the winxpsp2-updates.bat file name are on the
same line... thx again wordwrapper!
Btw... I know that rebooting is sometimes necessary but in the early
stage those updates are applied, I think there is no problem without it.
All in all this helped me to reduce the overall install time from about
2 hours to 1.5 or even more on my Dell 170L Systems.
