I tried that but the drivers don't appear to be the problem.  The 
install script sees the array and partitions it just fine, the windows 
installs files also copy over without a problem.  When it reboots the 
system won't boot from the drive for some reason, it's almost like the 
MBR isn't being installed properly.

I'm using a 3ware SATA RAID 1 card if it makes any difference.  I tried 
a SCSI RAID card but then unattended doesn't see the drive at all.
