now this is getting interesting,
about 2 times of 10 it works just fine as it should.

is there anything I can do to make /etc/master and /etc/udhcpc-script work more
secure?
should I put sleep commands in there or something?

hello

I had a similar situation
unattended-4.8
new e1000 driver
nt5x-install (automatically in the meta section)
make download and make all works fine

PXE boot goes alright until
0000:00:19.0 :eth0 Unable to allocate MSI Interrupt Error -1
        Sending Discover
0000:00:19.0 :eth0: Link is up 100 Mbps Full Duplex Flow Control: RX/TX
        Sending Discover
there it stop

after waiting an hour I Ctrl+C and tried /etc/master manually
voi´la - the installation went through, without problems

my question about this little workaround is,

what could be done after the Sending Discover text
to restart the master script or retry the udhcpd command

In all the mails on the unattended list I saw
    - driver e1000e is integrated in the cvs
    - nt5x-install is integrated in the cvs. Very good news ...
    - I used the same glibc as this on my computer (glibc-2.3.6)
    - I used too samba-3.0.20 and perl-5.8.8

Make download. OK
Make tftpboot OK

So, I tried to boot an Dell Optiplex 755 with PXE, and I saw this messages:
...................
*** Now that we have loaded the modules (maybe) let's try DHCP ...
*** Trying DHCP on eth0
udhcpc (v1.9.2) started
0000:00:19.0 :eth0 Unable to allocate MSI Interrupt Error -1
Sending Discover
0000:00:19.0 :eth0: Link is up 100 Mbps Full Duplex Flow Control: RX/TX
0000:00:19.0 :eth0: 10/100 speed: disabling TSO

and now, the computer freezes.

I used: linux-2.6.24.4 glibc-2.3.6 perl-5.8.8 .......

I'll try with linux-2.6.24.3
