I believe that it may be a problem with writing the MBR. I tried using
fdisk to partition it and it showed that I had partitioned the whole
drive (100%) as C: and therefore should easily have enough space to
install windows. Upon continuing the installation however, I received
the same error saying it could not find a drive with enough space.

This leads me to believe that there is a problem writing the MBR and
therefore it is not showing the drive correctly to the Windows
installer. What file (or where in a file) would rewriting the MBR be
located? And what should I look for to know if it is working correctly?
I have replaced the entire contents of "install" and it does not seem to
make a difference and have tried using different setup CDs with no
success.

Thanks,

Alex

To be a little more specific, when I select option #3 to "Format Whole
Disk" its only formatting 4001MB instead of the whole 40GB hard drive.
Any ideas why its suddenly started to do this?

Thanks,

Subject: [Unattended] setup disk size error

Hey there,

For some reason I am getting an error with windows setup when I try to
perform an installation. Basically I will go through all the unattended
options and get everything setup and ready to go. However when windows
inspects the system before it gets ready to copy setup files, it says
that the disk needs to have XXXXXMB available and I only have XXXXX
available.

This just started happening and beforehand I was able to run a complete
installation through unattended fine. I have used the same system to
test unattended probably a hundred times and this just started happening
on both this system and another that I tried. I know that the hard
drive is big enough and I partitioned/formatted/"rewrote mbr" as I
always have done. Any ideas what may have gone wrong? I was thinking
it may be an unattended setup file that maybe got deleted or edited
somehow but I don't know where to start looking.

Thanks much,
